Social Good Holiday Initiative Update

IQ Culture, News and Events
by: Scott Plummer

We are pleased to say that we were able to provide jackets, gloves, hats, and a variety of toys, games, and books to the three siblings that we sponsored through Every Child Inc.! Board games, legos, puzzles, dolls, clothing, game balls, and so much more were handed off to their Outreach Manager, Sydney Rabinovitz! The employees of IQ came together to donate a plethora of food as well, which included; ham, turkey, pasta, veggies, potatoes, mac & cheese, peanut butter, hot cocoa, cookie mix, and gift cards to help purchase additional food in the weeks to come!

About Every Child Inc.:
We served over 1,600 children and family members through our clinical and family support services in 2019. We provide in-home structural family therapy to walk along families as they recover and work through their behavioral health diagnosis. We also recruit and train foster families to provide a safe and nurturing home for kids who desperately need one. We provide in-home services to families that are struggling with trauma, domestic violence, addiction issues, and other challenges that may make their home unsafe for some period of time for their child. We work with them to ensure a safe, healthy loving family environment.

For the holiday season we had almost 300 requests from the families we serve in our programs. We provided them with clothing, winter apparel, toys, blankets, and general hygiene items. The ages of children ranged from newborn to 21 years old. We primarily supported children from Allegheny County, Washington County, Westmoreland County, Beaver County, Butler County and a few from more neighboring counties.

IQ also hosted a CISPAC Winter Drive to help students within our communities that were in need of cold weather gear such as jackets, gloves, hats, and boots. Both organizations were so very grateful for the donations that were provided by the amazing employees of IQ Inc.!
