Surgical Vision Enhancement System

Situation:

Global healthcare company required critical software validation and verification to deliver market-shifting ocular surgical device.

Task:

Develop test plans, execute testing protocols, manage anomalies for software and hardware integration while complying with all necessary FDA and regulatory guidelines.

Action:

IQ team exhaustively tested surgical device software, partnered with development team to successfully resolve all issues, and successfully completed on-site client FDA audit.

Results:

IQ team completed all tasks and allowed client to complete 510K submission and ultimately bring product to market.

Visualization and Surgical Precision Device

Situation:

Ground-breaking surgical device company required critical software quality and engineering experience in order to improve test protocols and validate system for product release.

Task:

Improve test plans and protocols through exploratory testing while complying with all necessary FDA and regulatory guidelines.

Action:

Through close partnership with client, IQ team provided critical feedback in order to ensure that all device functionality and business logic was fully tested.

Results:

IQ team completed all tasks and allowed client to complete 510K submission and ultimately bring product to market.

Medical Continuous Fluid Delivery Device

Situation:

Local medical device company was in the final stages of developing a new continuous flow delivery device and was looking for software integration testing support required to bring the product quickly to market.

Task:

Develop test protocols, manage anomalies for software and hardware integration, and document test results, all while collaborating and sharing test equipment with the development team.

Action:

IQ team started by creating the necessary test protocols at the IQ office and then transitioning to the customer site for test execution, reporting and anomaly fixes. Short daily scrum meetings were used to gauge the effectiveness of the team and to monitor the team’s progress.

Result:

The customer was very pleased with the success of the testing and IQ’s test team has become an integral part of the customer’s on-site test team since 2013.

Transportation Control Center Product Line Upgrade

Situation:

International leader of rail transportation control systems was refactoring the user interface software from their common software product line to use a new framework.

Task:

Provide on-site and off-site resources needed to lead, develop and execute a full suite of verification tests.

Action:

IQ worked alongside the development team to understand the requirements of the system by looking at new and previous versions of SW and documentation to develop and execute the test protocols needed to fully test the refactored software.

Result:

IQ engineers integrated themselves with the team to deliver the necessary tests on time, ensuring that a successful version of the software product was created.
