MDX Specialist:
Responsibilities:
• Assist in converting hundreds of existing queries from a proprietary database system to run against Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services [SSAS] cubes using the MDX query language.
• Indentify queries that can be optimized, merged, and otherwise streamlined to take advantage of the MDX query language and the data structures of the existing cubes.
Requirements:
• Practical experience creating and running MDX queries, preferably against Microsoft Analysis Services cubes.
• MDX querying skills must be solid. [Cube building skills not required.]
• Ability to work independently; able to identify ways to automate the running of the queries in an optimum manner.
• Knowledge of Microsoft’s Information Services and/or basic C# programming skills desired, but not essential.
